How To Roll A Joint

If you smoke cannabis, you’ll understand the importance of learning to roll a joint. It’s one of the most important skills any smoker can have, and it’s imperative you get it right.

HOW TO ROLL A JOINT

Let’s be honest, no one wants to be passing around a joint that’s falling apart, too thick or too thin, or worse, not even burning.

If you’ve ever made this mistake (or you want to avoid it), then stick with us to learn the best way to roll a fool-proof, fully-functional joint. You and your friends will thank us.

What Is A Joint?

A joint is a rolled-up mixture of tobacco and cannabis. The word “joint” comes from the French word for cigarette: jointe. In America, joints are often referred to as blunts. In the UK, blunts refer to a rolled-up mixture of pure cannabis.

Some people prefer to roll joints because they’re cheaper. So if your cannabis is expensive, adding tobacco to the mix can make your smoke go further and save you a bit of cash in the long run. It’s also a good idea if you want to enjoy being high without overdoing it or wasting your weed.

What Do You Need To Roll A Joint?

Before we dive into the method, there are a few things you’re going to need to roll a joint. First, let’s take a look at the most important materials below.

HOW TO ROLL A JOINT

1) Cannabis – This is where the magic happens! We recommend using organic, hand-grown cannabis. Organic cannabis has been grown organically, without pesticides and fertilizers. It contains more nutrients than non-organic cannabis, so you’ll feel better when you smoke it.

2) Rolling Paper – There are many types of rolling papers available on the market today. They come in all shapes and sizes, and some are designed specifically for use with marijuana.

Some paper is thicker than others, which means it takes longer to burn through. When choosing a type of paper, consider how much time you plan on smoking before you light up.

3) Grinder – A grinder is used to grind up your cannabis flowers. You can buy a cheap grinder off Amazon for $10-$20, or if you take your smoking seriously, you can invest in a more expensive one.

4) Roach Paper – Roaches are little pieces of paper that are placed between the joints to prevent them from getting wet. Think of them as a cigarette filter.

Roach papers, like those sold by the Raw brand, can usually be bought as little strips of cardboard that you roll up into a roach shape (we’ll talk more about this later).

5) Tobacco – You’ll need some tobacco to mix with your cannabis and include in your joint. If you don’t want to use tobacco, you could consider using lavender, mint, or even herbal tobacco.

How To Roll A Joint

Now you’ve got your materials to hand, it’s time to learn how to roll a joint. Here’s what you do:

Step 1 – Start With Your Cannabis

The first step is to break down your cannabis into small pieces. You should aim to get the smallest pieces possible. This makes it easier to roll the joint and ensures that you have enough material to work with.

Step 2 – Grind Up Your Cannabis

Once you’ve broken down your cannabis, you need to grind it up into a fine powder. This is done by placing it in a grinder and grinding it up until it becomes a fine dust.

You can purchase a grinder online for around $15, but if you’re looking for something a little more durable, you may want to opt for an electric grinder instead. Electric grinders tend to last longer and are less likely to break.

Step 3 – Add The Tobacco And Other Ingredients

Once you’ve ground up your cannabis, you need to add the tobacco and other ingredients. You can either add these directly to the cannabis or place them separately on a piece of parchment paper. Place the tobacco on top of the cannabis, then sprinkle over any herbs or spices you’d like to add.

Step 4 – The Roach

If you’ve already bought a pre-rolled roach, all you need to do is add this to the end of your joint, roll up, and smoke. If you’re making a roach yourself, though, we have a few tips for you.

First, you’ll need to find a nice, thick piece of cardboard. Once you’ve found the right size cardboard, start by folding a small piece of the cardboard to create a small flap. Now, take this small flap and bend it the opposite way. The result should be a little ‘Z’ shaped creation.

Once you have this shape, get the other end of your cardboard and start to roll it up into a tube. Roll all the way up to the Z flap, so your tube and your Z shape should meet. Pinch your tube tightly to maintain the rolled shape.

Now, unroll the tube you’ve just created, and roll the Z shape towards the other end of the cardboard. This should create a circular roach with a Z shape center!

Step 5 – Light Up

Now that everything is ready, it’s time to light up. So take your lighter or match, light the end, and enjoy.

Tip For Beginner Joint Rollers

If you’re a beginner joint roller, we have a few words of wisdom for you. First, make sure you buy good quality weed; it will taste better and help keep your joints together.

Second, try not to overfill your joint. It will be harder to roll if you fill your joint too much. Third, don’t worry about rolling perfectly every single time. It takes practice, and there’s no harm in trying out different techniques.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve never rolled a joint before, the process can seem complex and frustrating. However, with a bit of knowledge, time, and practice, you can roll up perfectly!

If you don’t get it right the first time, keep at it, and you’ll have the perfect technique mastered before you know it.
