If you want to find out how to make your own cannabis oil, then we have got all the information you need. We are going to not only be looking at how you can make your own cannabis oil, but how you can store and use it too.

So, jump in and take a look!

What Is Cannabis Oil?

Cannabis oil is a natural remedy that is used for a lot of different purposes. It goes by a few names too including CBD (short for cannabinoids) and is used around the world for its pain relieving effects and mind-altering properties.

Because of these properties and effects, cannabis oil can relieve joint pain and inflammation, improve relaxation and sleeping patterns, as well as relieving anxiety and stress.

These ailments are some of the most common issues affecting people all around the globe, which is why cannabis oil has become more and more popular in recent years.

However, cannabis oil is still very restricted in various countries due to certain laws and rules so before you attempt to make your own cannabis oil, make sure that it is legal to do so in your own country.

What You Will Need

To make your own cannabis oil, there are a few things you will need.

Firstly, you will need the cannabis itself. For the below recipe, we recommend that you use 3.5 grams of cannabis flower (the buds of the cannabis itself).

This may seem like not a lot of cannabis but it is important to remember that cannabis is very strong even in small amounts. You will also need to break these buds up into very small pieces by hand.

Another ingredient you will need is a carrier oil. For this recipe, we recommend you use about half a cup of cooking oil.

This can be any kind or make but we recommend something like olive, vegetable or coconut oil. This is because these oils contain the most fatty acids which helps the cannabis oil work better when used in edibles and topicals.

As for equipment, you will need a baking tray. Make sure that the baking tray is rimmed so the oil will not flow over the sides. You will also need some baking paper, a saucepan, and a strainer.

Now you have everything you need, it’s time to start!

First, preheat your oven to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Lay a piece of baking paper onto your baking tray, and spread your cannabis onto the sheet.

Let them bake in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes, regularly checking on them to ensure that the buds are turning darker.

Once they are done, allow the cannabis to cool before grinding them up.

Add your oil to your saucepan and set it above a low heat. Add in your cannabis pieces and stir them regularly for three hours.

To prevent scorching, you can add a small amount of water but ensure that the oil never goes above 245 degrees Fahrenheit or you will burn your oil.

Once done, strain your cannabis oil into a ready jar for safe keeping.

How To Store Cannabis Oil

Just like with everything else, cannabis oil does not last forever so you need to properly store it so it will last for longer and reduce waste.

Make sure you keep your cannabis oil in a properly sealed container (or jar) and keep it in a cool, dark place like in a cabinet.

Sunlight and exposure to air and heat will reduce the longevity of your cannabis oil, so ensure that it is not left unsealed or in the open.

Also, make sure that your cannabis oil is out of reach of both children and animals.

If done properly, cannabis oil can last around a year because it starts to lose its effectiveness due to age.

How To Use Cannabis Oil

Cannabis oil has many positive benefits, which makes it incredibly versatile and effective.

However, when it comes to using cannabis oil, a lot of people struggle to find the dosage. Some people may even try to vape or smoke cannabis oil when in reality, this is not the fastest way to use it.

How To Use Cannabis Oil

The most efficient and effective way to use cannabis oil is to apply it to your tongue. Here, it can be quickly absorbed into your bloodstream, bypassing the stomach.

Just put a single drop under your tongue and wait for the effects to start – this will take around 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

Do not put lots of oil in your mouth at once as this will intensify the effects and could make you feel very uncomfortable or feel ill.

Some people add cannabis oil to edibles. While this method takes longer as you have to wait for the oil to be ingested in your stomach, it still works just as great. Again, only put a few drops of oil into your edibles and eat them slowly.

The recommended rule when it comes to using cannabis oil is to try a drop or two, wait at least an hour, and then go from there.

Everyone is different so some people may need a higher dose depending on their ailments but for others, anything more than a single drop is too much.

Start from the bottom and work your way up to find your perfect dosage.

Conclusion

So, cannabis oil has a lot of benefits that can help out a lot of people in constant pain and distress.

It is used as a mood lifter and as a form of pain relief, so a lot of people try to make their own cannabis oil in their own home for their own usage.

While this process can take a few hours, it is super easy and just needs more supervision than actual effort.

So, if you have been thinking about making your own cannabis oil, give the above recipe a try and see if it works for you!
